Volkl Deacon 76 Skis + Rmotion3 12 GW Bindings 2024

Carve a long turn and you’ll see: the Deacon is born for this.

You could say that the term “all-mountain” was coined just for the Deacon. Long, medium or short turns, cruising or skiing at the limits of speed, soft slopes or hard – if you’re ambitious about performance, look no further. The Deacon 76 certainly can handle tight radii, but if you want to switch between wide, super-clean racing lines and fast, sporty carving, you definitely need to try this ski. Long turns taken on the edge all the way are pure pleasure with the Deacon 76. And as of now, the Deacon 76, thoroughly redesigned and sporting strong colours, will not go unnoticed on the slopes. With its diffrent geometry, widened shovel and shortened tip and tail rocker, this powerhouse can conquer turns of any radius. Its versatility is magnified by Tailored Carbon Tips. Carbon fibres applied using Völkl’s exclusive Tailored Fibre Placement (TFP) process allow our engineers to influence curve behaviour with great accuracy. The strength and alignment of the fibres define the force you need to apply and the energy that builds up where it’s needed. Agile shovel reaction is a feature of special note. This means that as soon as you initiate a turn, the ski begins to steer in a measured and controlled manner, depending on how the edges are employed. This construction also allows means less weight without any loss of stability. Last but not least, TFP allows our designers to tailor every length to the requirements of each target group.

FEATURES & TECHNOLOGY

  • 3D.GLASS: Compared to classic glass constructions the three-dimensional and multiple-folded glass layers in the tip and in the tail area result in an increased edge grip and a more vivid rebound behavior in turns. 1 3D.GLASS IS INTEGRATED IN THE TIP AND TAIL OF THE SKI // flat glass under the binding making the center softer // variable turning at any speed 2 GLASS ABOVE THE SIDEWALL //providing additional support for superior edge grip on icy slopes 3 VERTICAL GLASS IN TIP & TAIL AREA //more pop for faster edge to edge changes
  • FULL SIDEWALL: Direct and strong power transmission with full length sidewalls.
  • FULL SIDEWALL ABS: The specific synthetic substance of the entire sidewall enables a precise and direct power transfer.
  • FULL TITANAL: The titanium setup makes the ski agile and dynamic. Especially friends of a hard, fast and aggressive riding style benefit from the quick response of this construction.
  • MULTILAYER WOODCORE 1: The side wall is laminated to extremely stable layers of wood on the sides of the sandwich core. In combination with a more flexible, lighter wood built into the center of the sandwich core construction provides numerous advantages: The hardwood part immediately adjacent to the sidewall effects a higher power transmission, improves the edge grip and supports the edge against external forces. The low weight of the softwood part in the middle of the ski brings more agility and maneuverability and reduces overall ski weight. The combination of both wood types running through the entire ski length contributes to an optimal distribution of the ski stiffness increasing the steering precision. It is the first and only sidewall/core technology intended for aggressive on-piste and racing use and capable of delivering the victory and defeat, even if it is measured in hundredths of seconds.
  • TAILORED CARBON TIPS: In this innovative manufacturing process the new Tailored Carbon Tips are produced by embroidering the individual carbon fibers onto a carrier material. This allows them to be positioned exactly along the stress lines, opening up completely new possibilities, for performance at the front of the ski, which has a decisive influence on the handling of the ski. The stiffness, torsion and thus the skiing characteristics can be specifically adjusted via the fiber thickness and millimeter-precise alignment. In this way, the fibers guide the dynamics to the areas of the ski where they are needed. The visibly integrated Tailored Carbon Tips are light, allow an agile shovel reaction with less effort and quickly build up energy. The Tailored Carbon Tips thus reach a new level of precision, direct tip response and active skiing pleasure.
  • TIP & TAIL ROCKER: Character: Bends up only in the shovel and tail zones, with a camber shape in the middle
  • WOODCORE: Special PU construction with a wooden core in the ski body.
  • RMOTION 3 GW: Exclusive Marker Völkl plate-binding system for high class on-piste skis. BENEFITS // Smooth & consistent drifting at moderate speed // Tighter turns with less efforts at higher speeds

Sizing Guides

Sizing Charts

To help you to work out sizings, we have devised the following size guide. It is generic and not specific to any particular brand so especially with clothing it is best to either call for our opinion or cross reference the manufacturers individual size guides. Please click one of the links to get to the relevant chart below:

Ski length, Snowboard length, Snowboard Bindings, Boot sizes, Clothing sizes, Glove sizes.

Ski length

We have devised a simple chart to assist you in selecting your correct ski length. If you require any further assistance, our staff will be only to happy to help.

Weight (stones) 5-6 6-7 7-7.5 7.5-8.5 8.5-9.5 10-10.75 11-11.25 12.5-13.5 13.5+
Weight (kilos) 32-38 38-43 43-47 48-54 57-62 63-69 70-79 80-86 87+
Length (cm's) 125 135 145 155 160 165 170 170 175

Level 1/2 Level 3 Level 4 Level 5/6 Level 7/8 Level 9/10
Skiing for the first time Able to ski green/blue runs Able to ski Blue/Red runs Able to ski all pisted runs in good conditions Able to ski all runs on/off piste in good conditions Able to ski anywhere on the mountain
-15cm -10cm -5cm 0 cm +5cm +10cm

1. Select your weight level. The ski length at the bottom of your weight column is your suggested starting length.

2. Now select your abilty level, the amount in cms at the bottom of your ability level is added to or subtracted from your starting length.

3. Add a further 5cm if you are spending 60% or more of your time off Piste.

4. By adding the above together you will have found your recommended ski length.

By adding your Ski length to your ability you will have found your recommended ski length. For example a person weighing 75kg, who is a level 7 skier will ski on length of 170 + 5cms = 175cms.

This ski length chart is a guide as not all skis end in 5 or 0 cms and therefore suggest you ski closest to the recommended length

Snowboard Length

Snowboard sizing is determined purely by weight. Ability determines flex - beginners should choose a board with a softer more forgiving flex, whilst more advanced riders would normally prefer a stiffer board.
