Salomon S/LAB Shift2 13 MN Ski Touring Bindings Black/Silver Met
A versatile hybrid touring binding that combines efficient pin-assisted climbing with confident alpine-style power and control on the descent.
The Salomon S/Lab Shift² 13 MN is designed for advanced and expert freeride and free-touring skiers who want to explore beyond the lifts without sacrificing downhill performance. Its DIN range of 6–13 provides dependable retention for powerful skiing while keeping the binding lighter than the higher-release Shift² 16.
In touring mode, the hybrid toe provides a pivoting connection for ski boots equipped with compatible tech inserts. The Hike and Ride Switch allows the binding to transition between uphill and downhill configurations, while the climbing aid provides additional heel support on steeper skin tracks.
For the descent, the toe converts into a full alpine-style binding interface. Power Block technology reinforces the Micro AFD to increase lateral stiffness and improve power transfer, while the revised baseplate combines metal and rubber reinforcement to enhance precision and absorb vibration in variable snow.
At the rear, the 3-Part Power Heel provides dependable retention and effective shock absorption for aggressive descents. Multi Norm certification accommodates compatible Alpine, GripWalk and touring-norm boot soles for downhill use, while the touring function requires boots equipped with compatible tech inserts.

FEATURES & TECHNOLOGY
- Hybrid Touring System: Combines a pin-assisted touring toe for climbing with an alpine-style interface for powerful downhill skiing.
- Multi Norm Compatibility: Accommodates compatible Alpine, GripWalk and touring-norm adult ski-boot soles for downhill use when correctly adjusted by a trained technician.
- Micro AFD: A redesigned anti-friction device creates a precise interface beneath the boot and supports controlled lateral release.
- Power Block: Reinforcement within the Micro AFD increases lateral stiffness and delivers more direct power transmission to the ski.
- Reinforced Baseplate: Metal and rubber reinforcement improves precision, absorbs vibration and creates a more stable platform during aggressive descents.
- 3-Part Power Heel: A reinforced heel construction provides dependable retention, shock absorption and controlled release in demanding terrain.
- Hike & Ride Switch: Provides a reliable mechanism for transitioning between uphill and downhill configurations.
- Two-Position Climbing Aid: Offers additional heel support on steeper skin tracks and can be operated using a ski pole.
- Crampon Compatible: Accepts compatible ski crampons for increased grip when climbing firm or icy slopes.
- Carbon-Infused Polyamide: A reinforced material that balances stiffness, durability and reduced weight.
- Automatic Wing Adjustment: Helps create consistent contact around compatible boot toes for reliable downhill retention and release.
- Oversized Wings: Wrap securely around the front of the boot to improve power transmission and control during the descent.
- Locking Brakes: A strengthened brake-locking mechanism helps keep the brakes retracted securely during touring.
- TÜV Certified: Independently certified to the applicable alpine-binding safety standard.
COMPATIBILITY
- For downhill skiing, the binding is compatible with Alpine ISO 5355, GripWalk ISO 23223 and compatible Touring ISO 9523 adult ski-boot soles.
- The uphill touring function requires ski boots with compatible certified tech inserts.
- Alpine or GripWalk boots without tech inserts may be compatible for downhill skiing but cannot be used in touring mode.
- The binding must be switched fully into the correct uphill or downhill configuration before use.
- Boot compatibility, toe height, forward pressure and release settings must be checked by a trained ski technician.
- Choose a brake approximately equal to the ski’s waist width. A brake up to around 10mm wider than the ski is normally suitable.
IMPORTANT TOURING INFORMATION
- Backcountry skiing involves hazards that are not controlled or marked. Appropriate avalanche training, route planning and safety equipment are essential.
- Always confirm that the toe, heel and brakes are correctly configured before changing between touring and downhill modes.
- Ski crampons are sold separately unless specifically stated otherwise.
WARRANTY
- Two-year manufacturer’s warranty.
FREE BINDING MOUNTING
- Purchase these bindings with a pair of skis from our store and we’ll mount and set them up free of charge. Once your order has been received, we’ll contact you to request the skier’s height, weight, age and ability, together with the ski boot’s sole length in millimetres.
- Ski bindings are safety equipment and must be mounted, adjusted and release-tested by a suitably trained ski technician before use. The DIN setting should not be selected from ability or personal preference alone.
