Blizzard Bushwacker Skis 2020

The Bushwacker utilises the same shape as the award winning Brahma 88, but with Flipcore and Carbon Drive Technologies, making for a lighter and more forgiving ski. Unidirectional carbon offers a precise, agile ride with great edge grip and versatility in a variety of conditions. A comfortable ride with just the right amount of power and performance for all day fun. The Bushwacker’s key characteristic is easy skiing versatility.

What We Think....

A great ski for big range of holiday skiers. Fun, manoeuvrable, easy-going trail performance ski that’ll you’ll be more than happy shredding around on all day. A nice predictable and forgiving ride, great for carving all over the piste, holds up at moderate speed really well and forgiving enough to take it easy without biting in and out of the turn. A very playful ski that will give you confidence to try new things on and mess about on. Take it in the side country and it ski’s well, little narrow for back country being a 88mm ski, but that’s not a problem as it performs so well on piste you won’t want to ski anywhere else.

FEATURES & TECHNOLOGY

  • CARBON FLIPCORE : A revolutionary rockered ski production process that incorporates bi-directional carbon fiber in the tips and tails of the ski to stabilize the rockered areas, reducing weight and vibration. This process delivers more precision and performance, creating a smoother calmer ride in an easy to ski package. The result is a perfect combination to pressure distribution, flotation, power and stability.
  • SIDEWALL: Full sidewall provides torsional rigidity and constant pressure along the full length of the ski. The result is better energy transmission, stability, control and ultimately greater performance.
  • ROCKER CAMBER ROCKER: Specifically designed rocker in the tip and tail with camber underfoot increases the carving character on groomed trails while maintaining flotation off the slopes.

SIZING

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SKI LENGTH

Determining the right ski length is not as simple as plugging in your height and weight. Although these are great factors to provide a starting point, there are other factors such as snow conditions, preferred terrain, ski category, and personal preference that should also be taken into account.

The general rule is for your skis to measure somewhere between your chin and the top of your head. With expert level skiers often choosing skis slightly above their head.

Once you have determined your recommended ski size range, now you need to decide if you prefer a longer ski or a shorter ski. In general shorter skis will be easier to manoeuvre while longer skis will be more stable. Narrower carving skis with smaller turn radiuses and full camber can be skied shorter, while wider all mountain and freeski skis with more rocker can be skied longer. Rockered skis have a shorter contact length with the snow which makes it easier to pivot and steer, however we recommend sizing up skis with a lot of rocker in order to maintain stability.Below are several reasons to help you make this decision.

GO SHORTER, CLOSER TO YOUR CHIN IF:

  • You are a beginner-intermediate level skier
  • You prefer making shorter/quicker turns
  • You are looking for a carving ski

GO LONGER, CLOSER TO THE TOP OF YOUR HEAD IF:

  • You are an advanced-expert level skier
  • You like skiing fast and making longer turns
  • You mostly ski off trial
  • You are looking at a ski with a lot of rocker

WARRANTY

  • 2 Year Manufacturers Warranty

Sizing Guides

Sizing Charts

To help you to work out sizings, we have devised the following size guide. It is generic and not specific to any particular brand so especially with clothing it is best to either call for our opinion or cross reference the manufacturers individual size guides. Please click one of the links to get to the relevant chart below:

Ski length, Snowboard length, Snowboard Bindings, Boot sizes, Clothing sizes, Glove sizes.

Ski length

We have devised a simple chart to assist you in selecting your correct ski length. If you require any further assistance, our staff will be only to happy to help.

Weight (stones) 5-6 6-7 7-7.5 7.5-8.5 8.5-9.5 10-10.75 11-11.25 12.5-13.5 13.5+
Weight (kilos) 32-38 38-43 43-47 48-54 57-62 63-69 70-79 80-86 87+
Length (cm's) 125 135 145 155 160 165 170 170 175

Level 1/2 Level 3 Level 4 Level 5/6 Level 7/8 Level 9/10

-15cm -10cm -5cm 0 cm +5cm +10cm

1. Select your weight level. The ski length at the bottom of your weight column is your suggested starting length.

2. Now select your abilty level, the amount in cms at the bottom of your ability level is added to or subtracted from your starting length.

3. Add a further 5cm if you are spending 60% or more of your time off Piste.

4. By adding the above together you will have found your recommended ski length.

By adding your Ski length to your ability you will have found your recommended ski length. For example a person weighing 75kg, who is a level 7 skier will ski on length of 170 + 5cms = 175cms.

This ski length chart is a guide as not all skis end in 5 or 0 cms and therefore suggest you ski closest to the recommended length

Snowboard Length

Snowboard sizing is determined purely by weight. Ability determines flex - beginners should choose a board with a softer more forgiving flex, whilst more advanced riders would normally prefer a stiffer board.
